T’ai Chi is a slow-moving martial art that offers good but gentle exercise to improve muscle tone and balance. On Thursdays from 2pm to 3pm, there's a T'ai Chi class at Coventry Vision Hub that is specially adapted for people with low vision. Get in touch if you'd like to come along.

Not only did Sam Young beat his target time at the London Marathon on 28 April, finishing in 3hrs 56 mins, but his fundraising total now stands at a grand total of £2,577.65 - wow!! THANK YOU so much to everyone who donated online and via out Centre - we really appreciate it. We are working hard to raise awareness of visual impairment in Coventry and to support as many people as possible to get the help they need. There are more than 4,500 people in Coventry living with registrable sight loss and another 5,000 or so with varying degrees of sight problems that can cause significant difficulties. As part of our Outreach programme, we visit groups all around the city to talk about the impact of sight loss on individuals and their families. Where necessary, we provide support in people’s homes, too. Contact us to find out more.

Getting around and about can be difficult if you have a visual impairment, so we offer an easy-to-use, door-to-door minibus service for people who want to come to the centre. We try to be flexible: just ring and book. Our vehicles are wheelchair accessible. A return journey costs £7.00 and one-way is £4.00

Farmer Martin brought a huge tractor into Coventry Vision Hub car park and gave a fascinating talk to the Monday Club, our weekly social club for older people living with sight loss. Martin organises the annual charity Christmas lights tractor run around Coventry and Warwickshire. He received an award in BBC CWR make a difference award for fundraising. This Christmas the tractor run will take place in Coventry and Bedworth on Saturday 13 December.
